AgriSafe Clinic (Farmer Health)
Aim of the Service
The Agrisafe Clinic is run in partnership between National Center for Farmer Health and primary Care Connect. This clinic offers farmers and their families the opportunity to meet with a specially trained agricultural health clinicians for a comprehensive occupational health and wellbeing assessment. The aim of clinics is to raise awareness of farmer health, enhance knowledge and prevent serious injuries of our farmers. This is open to all farmers and their families in every type of farming enterprise including dairy, cropping, viticulture, horticulture, aquaculture and livestock production.
The Health checks include:
- Blood glucose testing
- Cholesterol testing
- Blood pressure check
- Body mass index calculation
- Respiratory testing
- Hearing screening
- Skin examination
- Vision testing
- Urine testing
- Pesticide exposure testing
- Testing the fit of your mask or respirator
- Occupational risk
Farmers and agricultural worker and their families.
Prior to your initial appointment an AgriSafe occupational health history survey and appointment details will be sent out to be completed and returned by reply paid mail prior to the appointment.
The initial consult takes 1.5-2 hours.
